Over the next several decades an estimated ten trillions dollars is going to pass from the oldest generation to the next generation. Because of this opportunity, there is a tremendous opportunity to offer a non-biased, supported, leveraged, allied estate/charitable giving and legacy planning program to the Northwest Lutheran community. The Lutheran Legacy Campaign can have a positive impact for all Lutherans in the Northwest.
Lutheran Ministry Services Northwest (LMS) will be working with Legacy planning specialist to work with all Lutheran organizations, institutions, synods, congregations, church groups and individuals regarding the impact legacy planning can have for their families and the community. I have seen the effect a determined effort can have on the Lutheran community regarding legacy planning and LMS seeks to be at the forefront of this movement with the help of a generous Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation grant.
LMS is positioned well to take on this role as we have been a faithful, Pan-Lutheran, non-profit missionary society since 1938. LMS is well connected with the Lutheran community, its institutions, congregations, church groups and other Lutheran non-profits. Because of our past and current leadership, LMS is respected and utilized as a resource regarding many aspects of mission work, consultation, pastoral and spiritual care. LMS will be a catalyst to promote the transfer of wealth that will empower the entire Lutheran community.
The mission of the Lutheran Legacy Campaign program for LMS is predicated on Proverbs 3:9 "Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops." With the help of the Thrivent Financial for Lutheran Foundation, Legacy Planners, Volunteers and staff, LMS will succeed in leveraging Gods bountiful gifts.
