All of Lutheran Ministry Services Northwest’s (LMSN's) ministry programs are an extension of local Lutheran congregations’ current ministries.  We reach out to people in the following contexts.

Hospitals

LMSN’s Hospital Ministry provides spiritual care support to patients who are undergoing treatment within hospitals and medical centers throughout the Seattle area, and we offer support to the patients’ family members and loved ones as we are able.  We also support people who are staying in Seattle for extended outpatient treatment by arranging pastoral visits, etc. LMSN’s hospital chaplain is ecclesiastically endorsed for specialized pastoral ministry.

Nursing Homes & Care Centers

LMSN’s Care Center Ministry gives those within nursing homes and care centers the reminder that they are not alone and within the embrace of God's grace.  LMSN’s chaplains and volunteers visit numerous locations in the Greater Seattle area to provide song services and Bible studies.  Pastoral visits to individuals in care centers and adult family homes are offered when requested.

Jail / Prison Ministry

LMSN has a Jail / Prison Ministry chaplain on our staff. Our chaplain, a couple of local pastors, and various layperson volunteers provide ministry to those incarcerated in King County. Also, LMSN’s Executive Director serves as the coordinator for prison ministry for the Northwest District. We are pleased to present the following video about the importance of outreaching to jails and prisons.
